Professional Strand – Journalism – 300 level
This subject introduces students to specialist reporting of the environment. It is designed to develop students' knowledge of a range of research techniques, drawing on a broad range of scientific and social sources, both local and international; to explore the relationship of media reporting to public policy; and for students to produce environmental reports in the media of their choice. Students consider how journalists' choice of narrative technique and language both reflects and constructs broader discourse and debates about the relationship between culture, science and nature.
