This subject expands on the foundational and clinical knowledge of the multidisciplinary participant cohort, further developing current knowledge of diabetes by examining and critically analysing the anatomy, physiology, prevention, risk factors, screening and management strategies of diabetes mellitus. This subject motivates students to understand the complexities of the condition, clinical treatments and self-management of diabetes to facilitate self-development of knowledge and critical thinking through guest speaker presentations, online readings and subject assessments.
