Overview

The Graduate Diploma in Technology Management is an exit-only qualification for the Master of Technology Management (C04434). The course is designed for the future-focused professionals who aspire to be a sustainability focused technology leader. The portfolio consists of masters level subjects focused on leadership and organisational-acumen, supporting skills and knowledge development in technology, data and process management. Students build on the communication, critical thinking and leadership skills that inform strategic thinking and change management in technology rich enterprises. Students build capacity to lead the implementation of technology-lead initiatives, innovation and transformation: solving problems in technological lag and designing technology solutions for enterprise operations.

Course intended learning outcomes

A.1 Graduate Diploma in Technology Management graduates are culturally and historically well informed, able to work as respectful professionals with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
B.1 Graduate Diploma in Technology Management graduates evaluate technical and sociotechnical impacts of digital technologies issues against ethical and regulatory parameters, with commitment to act in a socially and globally responsible manner.
C.1 Graduate Diploma in Technology Management graduates critically analyse perspectives and insights from stakeholders and apply well-developed judgement to evaluate opportunities, risks, dilemmas, constraints, contradictions and uncertainties in complex environments.
D.1 Graduate Diploma in Technology Management graduates apply information technologies knowledge and theory to select appropriate methodologies and review solutions for digital transformation.
E.1 Graduate Diploma in Technology Management graduates communicate with a variety of audiences to transmit concepts and behave with collegiality and ethical awareness to develop leadership in digital transformation.
F.1 Graduate Diploma in Technology Management graduates reflect on their own practices, seek and act on feedback, build self-awareness of competencies to act with autonomy, and take responsibility for their professional practice and learning.

Course duration and attendance

The course can be completed in a minimum of 16 months online study, 1 x 6 credit point subject (or equivalent) per session over 4 x 7-week sessions. A 6 credit point subject requires an average of 15-20 hours of study per week.

The course totals 48 credit points consisting of a combination of technology strategy streams and management, enterprise and technology choice subjects.
